No Greater Love!

On Sunday mom and dad went to church but we all had to stay home.  Our church doesn't allow dogs. I know...crazy right?  Anyhow the fella's and I were trying to watch Charles Stanley so we could learn about Jesus too, but the little foster sissies get yipping, chasing and humping stuff, so it was too distracting. (I probably shouldn't have put the name of Jesus in the same sentence as humping....but that  is what happened.)

So, when mom got home I asked her to tell me what she learned that day.

She told me to think about all of the friends I have. (So I did.)  Then she said to think about how much their moms and dads love them. (So I did.) Then she told me something that shocked me.  She said that no matter how much a parent loves their child, God loves them way, way more!

My mom loves me sooo much! She gives me lots of attention, food, clothes, belly rubs and kisses but she said that Jesus said he loves us way, way more!

I was barkless.

She said that the Bible says if our parents can give us good gifts, then surely God can give us much, much more.

She asked me to think about something I had ever wanted in the past.

I remembered being in the shelter and praying I could escape and run away.

She said many times when we ask God for something he will give us even way more because He always knows what is best for us.

"Wow, Mom that is true!" I yipped, "Because instead of helping me escaped, He gave me a home!"

So, what do you need?  Have you asked the one who can really give you the best gifts at Christmas?

  1. That's one of the most important things you will ever learn, Karli, and I hope you will hold it close to your heart when life doesn't seem to be going the way you had hoped. He sees the whole picture and we see only a tiny piece.

  2. Your Mom taught you a lesson that even grown ups need to remember, Karli! It is good to be reminded of how we need to trust in the Lord, even when it doesn't make sense to us.
