About one week after I moved in with my new family I had weird feeling, I scooted around oddly on the floor and then I had a seizure. My mom was soooo worried about me. To be honest, I don't really remember much about my canine seizure but it has happened about eight times. My mom took me to the vet and they said it could be because I was nervous and just getting used to my surroundings. That sounded like a bunch of weinershnitchel to me because my new house was way better than being cold, sick and lonely in that awful shelter. Mom read me a bunch of information about canine seizures that she learned on The Epi Guardian Angels website. http://www.canine-epilepsy-guardian-angels.com/default.htm
After a few days I had more seizures so we went to a different doctor and he said I could start medicine that would help but with medicines there are risks. He was really nice. His name is Dr. Banta DVM and he is always very gentle with me. www.mtpleasantvet.com Before we started medicine he thought maybe a change in my diet would help. Some of us doggies are very sensitive to our food. My mom and dad bought me Blue Buffalo Grain Free kibbles and I LOVE it! http://www.bluebuffalo.com My honey, Austin doesn't like it that much, but he is a very picky eater.
I have been on my new diet for a month I have not had any more of my "funny shakes". My mom says if I keep doing this good I may never need medication, although many doggies take medicine for epilepsy and they do well. I am so happy I am feeling better now and very glad my doctor told us to try this yummy food.
